Professor I.B.R. Supancana has been a pioneering legal practitioner in arbitration and ADR cases for more than 3 decades. In addition to being a certified mediator, arbitrator, and lecturer for International Dispute Settlement, he works in close cooperation as a mentor, adviser, and trainer with universities and private/public sector advocate capacity building programs that span the globe--most notably in Singapore, US, China, and Netherlands.

In his home of Indonesia, he is an active arbitrator representing disputing parties in BANI and a senior trainer with PERADi (Indonesian Advocate Association) and PMN (National Mediation Center). He also has served as an expert witness and consultant for multiple cases involving cases air and outer space law, cyber law, and international business law

Professor Peter Malanczuk is an Adjunct Professor of the Faculty of Law of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and a member of the Academic Advisory Council of the University of Heidelberg (where he graduated from law school). He also serves as a member of the Council of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), China, and as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government on the Internationalization of Shenzhen. He also has specialized experience in international legal practice.

Apart from his work with the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal, he has served as Legal Counsel to Iraq before the U.N. Compensation Commission in Geneva resolving claims arising out of the 1990 Gulf War, independent expert before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Special Legal Counsel of Ethiopia on boundary and compensation claims issues arising from the 1998-2000 war with Eritrea, and as the first arbitrator appointed by Ethiopia in 2001 to the Eritrea-Ethiopia Claims Commission.

Mr. HUANG Guoyong is the Deputy Director of General Department (also the Secretariat of the Council) of Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). He has far-reaching experience in dispute resolution, finance and public affairs.

Mr. Huang has degrees both in international economics and law. He graduated from Xiamen University as a LL.M., following that he was appointed as Personnel Manager and Financial Manager successively in SPD Bank of Shenzhen.

With his professional skills and experience in business administration, Mr. Huang then started to serve the public for nearly 10 years in the Bureau of Personnel of Shenzhen Municipality (Office of Government Set-up Committee of Shenzhen Municipality), where he has gained vast experience in public administration, statutory body legislation as well as the innovative governance of arbitral bodies. He lead research plans with respect to statutory bodies and one of his research programs got awarded as an Outstanding Research Achievement (National Level Award) by the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform (SCOPSR).

Professor Steve Ngo is a practitioner of international arbitration and dispute resolution. Yetty Komalasari Dewi is the Head of Academic Quality Assurance Unit, Faculty of Law, UI. Previously, she held the position as the Head of International Undergraduate Program and the Head of Doctoral Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia.

Yetty became a full-time lecturer at FHUI since 2000 as the assistant lecturer of Trade/Commercial Law course. At present, she is in charge for number of courses namely Investment Law, (Commercial) Arbitration, International Arbitration, Companies/Corporate Law, and International Trade Law, both in undergraduate and graduate levels. Yetty also became a part time lecturer at the Master Programme on Public Policy at the Faculty of Economy and Business Universitas Indonesia. In January 2016, she was an Exchange Professor at Kumamoto University, Japan.

Other than teaching, Yetty is actively involved in research activities funded by among others Universitas Indonesia-Ministry of Higher Education, Bank Indonesia, Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Ministry of Industrial Affairs, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Regional Representative Council (DPD), and National Nuclear Energy Agency (BAPETEN). Her research includes a KPK-funded research on the transparency of Beneficial Ownership and a BKPM-funded research on Review on Agreements on the Development of and Protection towards Investment.

Yetty is one of the Subject Editors of Asian Journal of Comparative Law (AsJCL) published by National University of Singapore. Moreover, Yetty publishes articles and books as well. Her articles and books include Perkembangan Hukum Dagang di Indonesia (book), Kesiapan Indonesia Dalam Menghadapi Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN 2015 (article), and Pencantuman Klausula Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) Dalam International Investment Agreements (IIAs)/Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) [book chapter, Erman Rajagukguk].

As a speaker, Yetty is actively attend and involved in both national and international level of academic forums such as International Conference on International Law Society and Asian Researcher Symposium (APRISH). She attended Asian Law Institute Conference (ASLI Conference) in China, Japan, India, Taiwan, and the Phillippines. She presented her co-authored paper at the IUCNAEL Colloquium: The Environment in Court di University of Oslo, 2016.

Last but not least, as for her community engagement services, Yetty was a member of drafting team in several legal drafting projects namely Academic Team for the Limitation of Cash Transaction 2015-2016 and Legal Drafting Team for the draft law on Limitation of Cash Transaction 2016-2017 as well as Legal Drafting Team of Corporations, National Legal Development Agency, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Republic of Indonesia, 2017.

As a head of ICDR/AAA’s Asia office in Singapore, Mr. Lee is in charge of the Association’s Asia region operation including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, and many more. Primarily, Mr. Lee oversees the entire operation of the Association’s Asia office and leads the Association’s efforts in cultivating ties and developing business opportunities.

Mr. Lee is also in charge of many ICDR/AAA educational programs for the corporate counsel, the Association’s international panel of neutrals, and practicing attorneys in Asia region. For the corporate counsel, Mr. Lee regularly speaks on educational programs such as conferences, seminars and workshops to share findings on different research projects on dispute management and business negotiation and to explain the Association’s comprehensive rules and process.

For the Association’s panel of neutrals, Mr. Lee is on the Association’s annual internal review board as a part of continuing effort to maintain the highest qualified panel of neutrals. Mr. Lee is also charged with the ICDR/AAA International Symposium for arbitrators in Asia region to train additional panel members and to constantly update existing arbitrators with any new development. Mr. Lee also speaks regularly on the Association’s rules and administrative process to practicing attorneys to provide them with necessary tools and knowledge of the ICDR/AAA process.

Through his experience as an international case manager at ICDR/AAA New York office, Mr. Lee hopes to benefit Asia legal community with his first-hand experience and knowledge of its Rules and procedures. Mr. Lee is a NY attorney with LL.M. degree in International Commercial Arbitration from Stockholm University Law School in Sweden and J.D. degree from St. Thomas University Law School in Florida. Mr. Lee has been serving as a Chair of Legal Committee for AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) Singapore since 2009.

Sarah Grimmer is Secretary-General of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. She was formerly Senior Legal Counsel at the PCA where she served as tribunal secretary in multiple investor-State arbitrations and was appointed registrar in several inter-State arbitrations.

Prior to joining the PCA, Sarah served for three years as Assistant Counsel at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris. She was also a member of the international arbitration group at Shearman & Sterling LLP in Paris, prior to which she worked in private practice in Auckland. In 2015, Sarah was appointed to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon Disciplinary Board. She is a member of the ICCA-ASIL Task Force on Damages (2016), ICCA Publications Committee (2015), the IBA Investment Arbitration Subcommittee (2014), New Zealand ICC Arbitration Committee (2014), and the IBA Arb40 Steering Committee (2013).

She has an LLM from Cambridge University and an LLB/BA (Criminology) from Victoria University of Wellington. She is admitted to practice law in New Zealand.

Aloysius is the managing partner of boutique law firm, AQUINAS LAW ALLIANCE LLP. He previously was the managing principal of Dacheng Wong Alliance LLP, Singapore’s first China, Singapore joint venture law firm.

He graduated from the University of Kent at Canterbury with a BA in Law & Economics and is a qualified barrister at law and admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore in 1995. He is an arbitrator of the Thailand Arbitration Centre and Qinzhou Arbitration Commission, Guangxi.

His areas of practice are Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Law, Cross Border Commercial Transactions and Real Estate Transactions. Aloysius has since 1997 advised on various development and investment projects for property developers, real estate players and hospitality companies in Singapore and the region.

He also advises on cross-border joint ventures and transactions and in the area of mergers and acquisitions of companies. Advising clients on entry strategies into China and investments in China is his current expertise given his network in China. He is actively involved in cross border corporate, real estate transactions and investments transactions, across China, India and the ASEAN region.

In 2009 he was named as one of the “Asia’s Hot 100 lawyers” by Asian Legal Business and in 2014, he was awarded a Property and Real Estate Lawyer of the Year by Finance Monthly.

He sits as a director in Tay Leck Teck Foundation and Verbum Dei Singapore Limited (a charity) and serves as a volunteer legal advisor to two other charities, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) and the Realm of Tranquilty. Aloysius sits as an independent director on various companies listed in Singapore and overseas. He has extensive experience in board matters for such listed entities having sat in various boards and an in various capacities, including as independent director, non-independent director and Chairman of various committees.

Aloysius is also a sought after speaker in areas like “Doing Business in China” and “ASEAN Integration”. He has presented various papers at international conferences in Singapore and overseas. Some of these include the Global Diaspora Summit 2009 in Singapore, the Global Diaspora Summit and Invest Shenyang Summit in 2010, China ASEAN Association Summit 2014 in Bangkok and recently the ASEAN Legal Alliance Legal Conference 2015 in Singapore.

Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly known as the KLRCA), Smrithi is also the Secretary General of the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre.

At the AIAC, Smrithi supervises and manages the administration of all ADR disputes and is involved actively in developing the legal philosophy and strategy of the Institution including its products. She is also involved in spearheading development projects such as revision of the Arbitration Act, Arbitration Rules, maritime initiatives and other Alternative Dispute Resolution projects within Malaysia and for the region. She completed her LLB in India and thereafter completed an LLM from the University of California, Berkeley with focus on International Dispute Resolution.

Prior to joining the AIAC, Smrithi was practicing in India dealing with a variety of transactional, domestic and international arbitration disputes. She is also the lead contributor for the book “Law, Practice and Procedure of Arbitration (Lexis Nexis 2nd edn) and an expert contributor for the book “Arbitration in Malaysia (Reuters).

Jun Bautista is counsel in King & Spalding’s Singapore office, and is a member of the International Arbitration practice group. He has represented clients across a number of industries in international arbitrations under various rules as well as ad hoc proceedings, with a particular focus on Asia. Legal directories describe Jun as "...very effective, and knows what the client wants…” and “praise his strong technical ability and commercial approach.”

Jun is admitted to practice in New York and the Philippines and is familiar with both civil and common law systems.

Amar is amongst the founding members of JSA’s Disputes Practice. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation, arbitration and regularly argues at various fora.
